Winter's Glory Concert
Join ChildrenSong of New Jersey as they raise their voices in "Winter's Glory" on Sunday, December 7 at 3:30pm at the Unitarian Universalist Church in Cherry Hill (401 Kings Hwy N). The concert will feature winter songs from Japan, Czech Republic, and the United States and selections from two local composers Elliot Z. Levine and Robert S. Cohen. Mr. Levine wrote music to the famous Robert Frost poem Stopping By Woods on a Snowy Evening and another composition Darkest Night from text written by Mara Alper. Robert S. Cohen was commissioned in 2008 by ChildrenSong of New Jersey to write Ho Hosanna for treble voices and rearranged the song in 2014 for mixed voices. Another original composition Christmas Time by Mr. Cohen will also be presented.In addition to commissioned selections, seasonal favorites such as Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire and Carol of the Bells will also fill the afternoon with song. Tickets for the event are $20 adults, $15 for students and seniors, Children 14 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased at the door or on-line at www.childrensong.org.
