Artistic Director Receives Prestigious Applause Award

Polly Murray, Founding Artistic Director of ChildrenSong of New JerseyPolly Murray, the Founding Artistic Director of ChildrenSong, was recently selected to receive the prestigious Applause Award from the Markeim Art Center in Haddonfield, NJ.

Mrs. Murray will receive her award at the third annual Applause Awards dinner, held at Rowan University on October 25.

The awards pay tribute to residents of southern New Jersey who have contributed to the arts and humanities. Nominations are made by members of the community.

Awards are given in the categories of the visual arts, music, theater and dance, education, history, media, and literature.

Last year's honorees included Dorothy Rivers of the Haddonfield Symphony, Haddonfield school superintendent Dr. Barry Ersek, Kenneth Roberts of The Retrospect, Linda Waller of the Lawnside Historical Society, Dr. and Mrs. Theodore Sery of the Possibility Players, artist Chris Zmijewski, and writer Valerie Flournoy.
