America Sings! Spring Concert Features Patriotic Theme
ChildrenSong of New Jersey will present its Spring Concert, entitled America Sings!, on Saturday, June 8, 2002, at 8:00 pm.
Directed by Polly Murray and Suzanne Purtee, the concert will feature American, Canadian, and English folk songs as well as a variety of well-known patriotic and jazz songs.
Featured selections include:
- I Hear America Singing
- A Tisket, a Tasket
- Sunny Side of the Street
- Puttin’ on the Ritz
- It’s Only a Paper Moon.
The performance will be given at Haddonfield United Methodist Church, Warwick Road and Kings Highway, Haddonfield, beginning at 8:00pm.
Admission will be $10 per person at the door for adults. Admission is $6 for children between 6 and 12 and children 5 and under are free. Group rates are available and may be requested in advance by calling the chorus line at 856-216-1140.
The Methodist Church offers ample seating, excellent acoustics, free on-site parking, and wheelchair access.
ChildrenSong of New Jersey is a non-profit, regional children’s community chorus, founded and directed by Polly Murray. The Assistant director is Suzanne Purtee and Accompanist is Rob Kennan. Members range in age from 7 to 15, and represent three South Jersey counties.
Funding has been made possible through local arts program support of New Jersey State Council on the Arts through the Camden County Cultural and Heritage Commission, the designated county arts agency.
