Open Auditions for 2004-2005 SeasonMay 21, 2004ChildrenSong of New Jersey will hold auditions for its three choirs on Tuesday, June 8, and Tuesday, June 15, 2004. ChildrenSong is a not-for-profit children's chorus based in Haddonfield, NJ. Members represent Camden, Burlington, and Gloucester Counties. The 125 singers who perform within the three choirs of ChildrenSong sing a selection of music from various genres including classical, jazz, and folk songs. Recent performances include Giacomo Puccini's Edgar with the (Philadelphia) Academy of Vocal Arts and as featured performers at the Drumming with the Djembe music educator's workshop. ChildrenSong traveled to Canterbury, England, last summer to perform at the prestigious Canterbury International Choral Festival and will tour to the Niagara International Choral Festival in July of this summer. Recently, ChildrenSong hosted the Camden County Songfest, held in Haddonfield on May 22, 2004. To audition, children must be between the ages of 7 and 16. Children will be asked to prepare My Country ’Tis of Thee or a similar solo for the audition. Audition sessions are held by appointment only.
