ChildrenSong Performs at A Longwood Gardens Christmas
November 14, 2004
ChildrenSong
of New Jersey performs at the prestigious annual holiday celebration, A
Longwood Gardens Christmas, on the beautiful grounds of Longwood
Gardens in Kennett Square, Pennsylvania.
Christmas sparkles at Longwood Gardens November 25-January 2.
Longwood blends all the ingredients for a memorable holiday celebration—exquisite
decorations, spectacular lights, festive music, and colorful displays—within
one fantastical garden. Thousands of brilliant poinsettias, lavishly
decorated trees, and fragrant flowers flourish inside the heated
Conservatory, while daily concerts, fountain shows, and evening light
displays heighten the holiday splendor.
After dark, a night-blooming garden of 420,000 lights strung on
nearly 40 miles of wire opens at Longwood. The outdoor lighting display
includes 77 trees and additional special displays, including
rhododendrons, anemones, azaleas, daffodils, and lilacs fashioned from
lights blooming in the beds. From the Conservatory Terrace, visitors can
see the 5-acre Main Fountain Garden outlined in blue lights with a
towering blue spruce decorated with frosty ornaments shimmering on the
center lawn and four-foot snowflakes sparkling in the distant trees.
ChildrenSong performs on Monday, November 29, 2004, at 7:00pm and
8:00pm. Admission to the garden is $15 for adults, $6 for youth aged
16-20, $2 for children aged 6-15, and children under 6 are free. For
directions, visit the Longwood Gardens information
page.
