ChildrenSong Welcomes the Winter Solstice
ChildrenSong of New Jersey, under the direction of Artistic Director Polly Murray, presents a celebration of song to welcome the winter solstice in their Winter Solstice Celebration concert on Saturday, December 9th, at Haddonfield Memorial High School Auditorium, 401 Kings Highway East, Haddonfield, at 7:30pm.
Children aged 8-16 in various choirs will sing seasonal favorites to celebrate the holidays, including Little Birch Tree, Carol of the Bells, Sleigh Ride, Shiru, and Hanukah! Hanukah!
The concert features special guests The Cherry Hill Pine Barons Chorus and the evening is capped by a rousing sing-a-long of holiday favorites (audience participation is highly recommended).
Tickets are $10 in advance for adults ($12 at the door), $7 for youth 12-17. Age 11 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased at the door, at the ChildrenSong online store, or reserved by calling the chorus line at 856-216-1140. A DVD of the performance will also be available for purchase from our online store (shipping after December 18).
Haddonfield Memorial High School offers ample seating, excellent acoustics, free on-site parking, and wheelchair access.
ChildrenSong of New Jersey is a non-profit, regional children’s community chorus, founded and directed by Polly Murray. The choir is accompanied by Nick Watts with vocal coach Patty Januszewski. The chorus’ 85 members range in age from 7 to 17, and represent three South Jersey counties.
Funding for this concert has been made possible in part by the Camden County Cultural and Heritage Commission through the New Jersey Council on the Arts, Department of State, a partner agency of the National Endowment for the Arts.
