2008 Camden County Songfest

January 4, 2008

Do your children love to sing? Sign them up now for the 7th annual Camden County Children's Songfest.

Last year's program attracted around 300 singers last year aged 9-13 from five counties in New Jersey. The festival was focused on Celtic music and dance, including a special feature on sword dancing. The singers learned an authentic Irish dance and sang folk songs from Ireland.

This year's program is International Songfest, where children will learn a variety of music from around the world.

This all-day multicultural music and singing celebration is for area children ages 9-13 (grades 4-7), and is sponsored by ChildrenSong of New Jersey. Singers do not need to know how to read music to participate. We'll teach them the basics of music reading and part-singing in one fun-filled day of music-making!

Teachers are invited to attend free for professional development credit.

Check-in begins at 8:30am. The day ends with a free concert for friends and family at 3:00pm.

Date: Saturday, April 12

Where: Haddonfield Memorial High School
Haddonfield, New Jersey
Click here for a map to the venue.

Cost: $15 admission includes a t-shirt, lunch, instruction, and the Songfest concert. (Teacher admission is free and includes complimentary lunch and music packet.)
