Britten's "A Ceremony of Carols" Featured at 10th Anniversary Winter Concert

ChildrenSong of New Jersey, a non-profit children’s chorus based in Haddonfield, celebrates its 10th Anniversary season with its winter concert, Ceremony of Carols, featuring selections from Benjamin Britten’s A Ceremony of Carols written for treble voices and harp. Maryanne Meyer, principal harpist of Symphony in C, will accompany the work.

Performances will be held Saturday, December 5, at St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church at 7pm and Sunday, December 6, at Christ the King Church at 3pm.

Additional selections include delightful seasonal favorites and upbeat spirituals such as Let It Snow and Born, Born in Bethlehem, and a medley of Christmas carols. Another highlight will include the singing of Brant Adam’s Torah Orah, accompanied by Will Amsel, principal clarinetist of the Princeton Symphony and Nicholas Watts, piano.

ChildrenSong of New Jersey enriches the vocal music education of seventy-five children in Camden, Burlington, and Gloucester counties within its current three-choir program taught by Artistic Director Polly Murray and Vocal Coach Patricia Januszewski. The choir is accompanied by Nicholas Watts.

Tickets are $15 at the door or $12 in advance for adults. Seniors and students are $10 and children 11 and under are free. Tickets can be purchased through the ChildrenSong online store or reserved by calling 856-216-1140.
